Chas Cowing has been a voice over professional for 30 years. The co-owner and head agent at Access Talent, Chas is an outspoken advocate for voice over talent. His blog entries are infused with insight, opinion and sometimes frustration with the voice over industry as its landscape changes with more rapid frequency.
In this two-hour seminar, Chas will offer an extensive Q&A, sharing his perspective about unions, rates, pay for play sites and more.
Chas will also offer feedback on voice over reads for each participant.
Originally from Williamstown, MA, Chas graduated from the Hotchkiss School before attending Colby College and the Yale School of Drama. After Yale, he worked with experimental theater company Mabou Mines; he then spent 18 years in the voice over department of J. Michael Bloom & Associates before opening Access Talent in 1999 with his partner, Linda Weaver. Chas lives on the Upper East Side of New York City with his wife and a small but combative poodle named Spartacus. When “Sparky” is in the office, he guards it ferociously, regularly terrorizing delivery people, especially the mailperson. Chas expects to continue his stint as owner, agent, computer repair-person and bottle-washer at Access Talent until he ends up…well, wherever old agents go to scream: “Hey you kids, get off the lawn!”
